HCG (5000IU)
HCG 5000IU (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin), a glycoprotein hormone for reproductive and endocrine research. Potency verified here on Australian soil at The University of Melbourne.
HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is a glycoprotein hormone consisting of two non-covalently linked subunits: an alpha subunit common to other glycoprotein hormones (LH, FSH, TSH), and a unique beta subunit that confers biological specificity. It binds to and activates the LH/CG receptor.
Unlike the simple peptides in our range, HCG is a large protein with a molecular weight of approximately 37,000 Da. It features complex tertiary structure and extensive glycosylation (carbohydrate attachments) that significantly affect its biological activity, receptor binding, and pharmacokinetic properties.
Research has extensively characterised HCG’s effects on gonadal function, including its stimulation of testosterone production in Leydig cells and progesterone production in ovarian cells. Studies have investigated its receptor binding kinetics, signal transduction pathways, and downstream effects on steroidogenesis.
HCG’s structural similarity to luteinising hormone (LH) but longer half-life due to its glycosylation pattern makes it a valuable research tool for studying gonadotropin physiology and the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis.
Important: Do not freeze HCG — freezing can damage the protein’s complex tertiary structure and reduce biological activity. Store refrigerated only.
Gen Ex Peptides supplies HCG with potency verified at an Australian university laboratory not generic overseas certificates.
